Help leave a legacy of good health at our hospitals by giving a gift for the future. A future donation can be made in several ways, such as a bequest in your will or by designating the Victoria Hospitals Foundation as a beneficiary of your RRSP, RRIF, or life insurance.
A planned gift to our hospitals shows both generosity and foresight. We would be pleased to meet with you and work with you and your professional advisors to ensure your planned gift best suits your needs and wishes while providing the greatest possible positive impact at our hospitals.
We feel honoured to be included in the legacy created by donors, and we are always touched by the thoughtfulness of people who include our hospitals when planning their estate.
There are many ways to create a planned gift:
- Charitable Bequest — a gift to a charity made through a will. A bequest of cash, property, mutual funds, RRSPs, RRIFs, stocks, or bonds can provide you with beneficial estate tax savings.
- Charitable Remainder Trust — a deferred charitable gift made by placing assets such as cash, securities, or real estate in an irrevocable trust. You receive a charitable tax receipt and interest income.
- Charitable Gift Annuity— a charitable gift involving a contract between a donor and a charity, whereby you transfer cash or property to the charity in exchange for an immediate tax receipt and a lifetime stream of annual income.
- Gift of Life Insurance — a designation of a charity as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy irrevocably. This option provides a way to make a substantial gift in the future for a relatively low cost each year. Annual tax receipts may be issued for the premiums paid.
