Cardiac Care is provided at Royal Jubilee Hospital, which is recognized as a Cardiac Centre of Excellence for the diagnostic tools and treatment capacity of its cardiology program, and the skill and dedication of its Heart Health team. The Royal Jubilee’s Heart Health Program is rated by the American College of Cardiology as one of the top cardiac programs in North America.
Three areas are integral to Cardiac Care:
- diagnosis and medical cardiology
- cardiac surgery
- cardiac rehabilitation, including the Heart Function clinic
No other cardiology programs exist in the Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) region. Royal Jubilee provides specialized referral services for Cardiac Care to all residents on Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands, and throughout British Columbia. Between 850 and 900 patients receive open heart surgery at our hospital every year.
