Caring Spirits – Stroke Rapid Assessment Unit

The Stroke Rapid Assessment Unit (SRAU) at Victoria General Hospital provides timely assessment for patients who have suffered a minor stroke, significantly reducing their likelihood of major or recurring strokes. The SRAU is also home to Island Health’s largest integrated clinical research program to reduce stroke burden. Having swift attention and rehabilitation after a stroke can make all the difference to recovery and quality of life.

These hardworking medical professionals recently received a Caring Spirit award! A former patient who received outstanding care during her hospital stay decided to honour the SRAU team with a Caring Spirit donation towards new medical equipment for Victoria General Hospital. Huge thanks to the patient for their generous donation and congratulations to the SRAU clinical and research team on this well-deserved recognition!

Your gift will be used for priority medical equipment that improves care for other patients. Caring Spirit has funded hundreds of important pieces of medical equipment throughout Royal Jubilee and Victoria General hospitals.
