Will Power

You Can Support Our Hospitals With a Gift in Your Will

In the pursuit of advancing healthcare on Vancouver Island, the Victoria Hospitals Foundation (VHF) has partnered with Will Power, a national movement to educate Canadians about the power they have to make change through their wills.

By giving to VHF in your will, you can make a big difference for Victoria hospitals and provide local caregivers with the tools they need.

Many donors believe that they can’t support both their loved ones and their favourite cause in their will. The truth is, just a small percentage of your estate left to VHF can have a big impact, while still leaving the majority for loved ones.

You don’t need to be wealthy to give through your willjust the willingness to plan. Start your plan today and be a part of this powerful movement for change.

Dr. Polina Parizeau

Early in Dr. Parizeau’s career, she once stayed up all night with a young boy with asthma, hand-ventilating him with an Ambu bag because there were not enough ventilators that night. Medicine has evolved dramatically since then, but the lasting impression of such memories inspired her to make several gifts to VHF during her lifetime—including a gift in her will.

John & Marg Bowron

John & Marg Bowron

“We all need to support our hospitals,” says John Bowron. “When you decide to take action now, it allows people like me the chance to survive.” After falling off the roof of his home in Oak Bay while cleaning his windows, John’s wife Marg found him and immediately called 911. Seven hours of surgery and 52+ sutures later, John began the long road to recovery. Inspired by the great care he received, John and Marg decided to include the Victoria Hospitals Foundation in their will.
