Donor Funding Is Critical For Critical Care Patients

Every year, more than 1,200 people require intensive care at Royal Jubilee and Victoria General hospitals.

The variety of equipment necessary to support and monitor patients in critical condition makes intensive care one of the most technologically advanced and resource-demanding areas of the hospital.

“I never imagined having to spend time in critical care, but I’m so grateful I was in Victoria when I needed it. Thanks to our hospitals, I have no lasting effects or health issues.”

— Gordon, Grateful Patient

10 specially trained physicians and numerous nurses, therapists, and pharmacists use sophisticated equipment to provide rapid information and aid with life-saving decisions.

Victoria General Hospital, as the only Level 3 trauma centre in the region, provides the highest level of care, from resuscitation to rehabilitation.
