Congratulations to Dr. Todd Yip, Dr. Peter Dryden, Nevin Pettyjohn, and the team at Royal Jubilee Hospital’s Foot and Leg Ulcer Clinic on each receiving Caring Spirit awards! A grateful patient made a donation in their honour in tribute to his experience in their care. His generosity will directly help to continue and improve patient care. Thank you.

Rehabilitation team members provide individual therapy programs with a focus on function. They work with the patient and their family to develop effective rehabilitation goals and discharge plans. The rehabilitation team includes the patient and their family, and, where applicable, a dietitian, nurse, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, doctors, speech and language pathologist, a social worker, rehabilitation assistant, and respiratory therapist.

Rehabilitation is the process of enabling an individual to reach an optimal mental, physical, and/or social functional level. The process is goal oriented and time limited. Rehabilitation addresses the needs of the individual and the environment in which he or she functions, whether at home,  work, school, or socially.

The Victoria Hospitals Foundation would like to thank the Caring Spirit donor for his generous gift and congratulate the team at the Foot and Leg Ulcer Clinic on the well-earned distinction! Service like theirs immeasurably improves quality of life for patients on Vancouver Island.
